Welcome to the Alpine Guesthouse & Refuge Pederü in S. Vigilio
Since the 1950s, the Refuge Pederü in S. Vigilio has been inviting holidaymakers and daily guests to make a tasty stopover or to spend the night in the mountains. As soon as you enter the Pederü, you will be greeted by the warm smile of Erika at the reception -
so you will immediately feel like home!
Situated in an idyllic location, directly in the heart of the Dolomites of South Tyrol - UNESCO World Heritage Site, our mountain refuge is the ideal starting point for exciting adventures in the midst of nature. How about a hiking tour in the beautiful Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park? We're right in the middle! Or do you prefer a panoramic bike tour to San Cassiano?
Families can also spend their time in our refuge: while kids have fun on the slide at the playground, parents can enjoy some sunshine and relaxation on our lawn or on the terrace. Snow lovers instead can go cross-country skiing, ski touring and snowshoeing in the surrounding area. Moreover, the Plan de Corones, South Tyrol's no. 1 ski mountain, is located close to our refuge.
At dinner, our chef Walter will spoil you with his tasty South Tyrolean dishes. Afterward, you can spend a sociable evening in our cozy wooden Stube or let review the day in your homely room. In the morning the inviting scent of coffee will guide you into the breakfast room... and here‘s Miriam, waiting for you with a rich mountain breakfast - for a great start into the day!

A look into the past...
The origins of the Refuge Pederü date back to the First World War, when the village of Pederü served as a military camp for the Kaiserjäger (Emperor’s Hunters) and the mountain hut as a barrack for the officers. It was only after the Second World War that the wooden hut slowly turned into a mountain refuge, which today is called Pederü!

Prices
- Prices are intended per person per night.
- The half-board prices are applicable for a minimum stay of 3 days.
- Reduction for children on request from 2 nights: with extra bed – up to 6 years -40%, from 7 to 12 years -20%.
- In addition to the total price, a local tax of 1.35 € per person and night will be charged directly on site for all guests aged 14 and over.

Useful information
- Arrival & Departure: On the day of your arrival, our rooms will be available from 2 pm. On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to leave the room within 10 am.
- Mobilcard: By purchasing the South Tyrol Mobilcard you are allowed to use all public transports throughout South Tyrol for free. With the Museumobil Card you also get free admission to 90 museums in the region.
- Pets: Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our alpine guesthouse.
- Rooms: According to Italian law, it is not allowed to smoke in our refuge and therefore in all our rooms. If you wish, you can smoke on our terrace. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee specific floors, room numbers or room types at the moment of reservation. However, we will be happy to meet your needs as far as possible.

- À-la-carte dinner in the traditional wooden Stube. Half board bookable from 3 nights.
- Ecological footprint: Our guests are "green guests"! Our refuge has its own power plant and a pellet plant. In this way, together with you we can actively contribute to environmental protection.
- Ski and hiking bus (free of charge with the San Vigilio Card/Holiday Pass)

Payment methods
- Deposit: The deposit depends on the booking value, but amounts to at least 50.00 € per room. In case of cancellation by the guest, the deposit will not be refunded.
- Payment methods: You can pay the hotel bill in cash, by EC card, Visa or Mastercard.
- Cancellation & Trip Cancellation Insurance: Cancellation until 60 days before arrival: the deposit will be retained. Cancellation from 60 to 30 days before arrival: 50 % cancellation fee on the total amount of your stay. Cancellation 30 to 3 days before arrival: 70 % cancellation fee on the total amount of your stay. Cancellation from 2 days before arrival, late arrival or early departure: 100% of the total amount of your stay. For non-arrival: 100% of the total amount of your stay.
- Should a booked stay at a hotel be delayed, or even not taken up or prematurely broken off, cancellation charges can be redeemed. In order to save you any expenses in such cases, we recommend you take out this trip cancellation insurance, with which you are covered by the Europäische Reiseversicherung's travel insurance.

To guarantee you a special culinary experience at all times, for the preparation of our dishes we only use regional and fresh quality ingredients and products from our garden and from the near farms.
Well then - enjoy your meal!
Mountain breakfast
Early in the morning, after a regenerating sleep, our guests can start the day with our rich and tasty mountain breakfast. We fill our buffet table with many South Tyrolean delicacies such as crispy rolls, homemade jams, fresh cold cuts, spicy alpine cheese, vital muesli, freshly baked cakes, sweet croissants and much more… Our friendly staff will be happy to serve you a good cup of tea or coffee!
Lunch for daily guests and clients
For a tasty lunch or a hearty snack in between, our chef Walter cooks alpine dishes from the South Tyrolean farmer's kitchen both for daily guests and clients! Would you like to eat wild game goulash with speck dumplings? Walter's dad (he's also called Walter :)) was hunting for you! Or would you prefer a warm barley soup? As dessert, apple strudel with vanilla ice cream – to sweeten up your day!
À-la-carte dinner
Mmh, that smells good! In the Pederü kitchen Walter creates one culinary delight after the other with passion and enthusiasm. In the evening you can choose your favourite dishes from our Alpine-Mediterranean menu. If you have booked our half board, we will spoil your palate with a 4-course dinner menu with tasty dishes from the South Tyrolean and Italian kitchen: get a fresh mixed salad from our buffet, choose between 2 of our starters and enjoy a main course and a dessert.

EXCITING SKI TOURS
Do you want to get where no lift can take you? Then let's go on a ski tour into the snowy Val Badia!
Climb to the top on skis in the midst of unspoilt nature, along picturesque deep-snow slopes, surrounded by impressive panoramic views oft he imposing peaks of the Dolomites - all around you can enjoy the silence of winter.
The two ski tours to the Monte del Lago and to the Sasso delle Dieci are highly recommended.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Do you prefer skating or the classic style?
Both are possible on the perfectly groomed tracks and ski slopes in S. Vigilio! The 24 km long cross-country ski slope of Marebbe starts right in front of our mountain refuge with varied rings and different levels of difficulty - for beginners and advanced skiers!
For even more cross-country skiing fun, in the Plan de Corones holiday region there are over 180 km of cross-country ski slopes.
SILENT SNOWSHOE HIKING
Tramping through snow-covered landscapes, surrounded by the winter silence, and enjoying the fairytale panorama from the top of the mountain? Let's go on a snowshoe hike in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park - the Alpine Guesthouse Pederü is the perfect starting point! Another recommended tour takes you through the Rautal valley to S. Vigilio or to the popular Malga Fanes and Malga Senes. If you would like to go on a longer route, you can hike up to the Passo Limo and then walk to the unspoilt Malga Fanes Grande.
Our guests can rent snowshoes for free at our refuge!
FUN ON SKIS
More than 110 km of varied ski slopes and all around the splendid Dolomites with their majestic mountain peaks and rustic alpine huts… Welcome to your snow-rich skiing holiday in S. Vigilio at Plan de Corones, South Tyrol's no. 1 ski mountain.
Ski beginner? Then we recommend easy slopes like Pedagà, Miara or Costa.
Ski professional? Then the challenging slopes of Erta, Silvester or Herregg are the right choice.
The best way to reach the Plan de Corones from our Alpine Guesthouse Pederü is by ski bus or with the hotel shuttle.

Just around the corner, there are many hiking paths, climbing gardens and high-rope courses, MTB trails and beautiful spots in the middle of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park.

FANES-SENES-BRAIES NATURE PARK
In 2009, the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Dolomites, and deservedly: over 25,000 hectares of breathtaking lakes and mountain landscapes, sometimes blooming sometimes snow-kissed alpine meadows, rare species of animals such as marmots, ibexes and chamois and - last but not least - the pale, legendary Dolomite peaks, a natural spectacle that awakens the spirit of discovery! The best way to explore this area is walking on picturesque hiking trails, cycling on flowing MTB routes or climbing spectacular via ferratas.
Any more questions? In the Visitor Centre in S. Vigilio you can get interesting information about the geology and the archaeology of the Nature Park.
DOLOMITES HIGH ROUTE N. 1
It crosses the eastern Dolomites from north to south, starts at the Lake Braies and passes directly in front of our mountain refuge. Are you ready for this exciting multi-day tour? Then let's go, over 150 km across eleven Dolomite groups and three Dolomite passes to Belluno!
If you would prefer to go on an one-day hiking tour, you can also walk only single parts of Dolomites High Route starting from our mountain refuge.
CLIMBING IN THE DOLOMITES
Have you always wanted to grab your fingers in the rock? Then you must absolutely climb in the Dolomites! The pale rock, the rugged and bizarre rock formations and the captivating view from the summit speak for themselves. Near to our mountain refuge there are climbing tours and routes suitable for both professionals and beginners. In Pederü there is also a climbing garden with difficulty levels from III. to VIl. and approx. 1-2 rope lengths. The Sassi delle Nove on the Cima Nove (3,000 m) are a classic when it comes to climbing and offer a route on smooth dolomite rock. Direttissima Messner and Heidi are the most popular tours.
TRUE BIKE PARADISE
More than 600 km of mountain bike trails and varied forest paths welcome you to the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park - a true bike paradise for all two-wheel fans! Whether you prefer a short ride or a multi-day tour – there are bike trails for everyone!
Do you feel hungry? Traditional alpine huts offer you South Tyrolean delicacies for a delicious stopover. On the Plan de Corones - stage of the famous Giro d'Italia already three times - you can enjoy flowing tracks and challenging freeride trails.
We provide our guests with road books with detailed directions and GPS tracks free of charge.
